Diamond
Diamond is the only gemstone that consists of only one element, namely carbon. The origin of the word diamond has the meaning of invincible (comes from the Greek word Adamas), also inexorable, unyielding. Diamond is the hardest material in the world.
Diamond has the property that it has a beautiful brilliance. A clear diamond, in the right cut, has dazzling brilliance. The gemstone can be colorless but also yellow, brown, green, blue, pink, black and red.
